The Forum began about 2000 when a number of people felt there was a need to create a voice for Walkley, bringing together local businesses and concerned residents to prevent our much-loved suburb from becoming run-down. The flower tubs along South Road,
the gardeners working on Walkley Green and outside the Library, occasional litter-picks, representations to our councillors about traffic and parking problems are among our activities, to say nothing of the Festival first held in 2002. We do urge more people to get involved, especially people with IT and social media skills. Meetings are held 7.30pm on the first Monday in the month (except bank holidays) at Ebenezer Church on Greenhow Street. Information can be viewed on the notice boards on Walkley Green opposite
Asda and at the junction of Howard Road and Fulton Road, also in the Library, local shops, the Community Centre (Fir St), and local churches. Email walkleyforum@gmail.com
